Diatoms are single celled organisms - algae that live in houses made of glass. They have glassy exoskeleton of two halves that fit inside one another perfectly. The glass parts are the light-absorbing molecules diatoms have, collecting energy from the sun and turning it into chemical energy through photosynthesis. We breathe the oxygen that diatoms release. There’s something in the molecules of nature that just brings equilibrium through the elements keen on lightness, really fluffy and airy and floating and, like, fireworks!
